Breathing life into the very first Inspired short story was this great photo submitted to the Fall '22 Inspired Photo Contest by friend and fellow fiction writer Sandy Blackburn. It sent my thoughts straight to Lewis Carroll's Wonderland and inspired my story "Poison Mushrooms."
Nita is a newly single mother talking to the leftover pumpkin pie in her refrigerator. As she gives in to the pie's invitations, she experiences feeling both taller and smaller, without true satisfaction. When she takes the family dog out after midnight, an amazing starry sky invites her to bite into a big truth that offers a satisfying fullness.
My full short fiction and opportunities to inspire it are shared with subscribers to my Lift! newsletter. I'd love for you to join the Inspired fun.
